On the eve of 150th birth centenary of Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore and 111th birth anniversary of rebel poet Kazi Nazrul Islam, Le Rythme organized Bandana-i- Rabindra Nazrul at IHC, New Delhi on 16th May 2010. This programme was to pay tribute to these great poets-thinkers-statesmen of the nation. Nana-Ranges Nazrul (Nazrul in different moods) was presented by Singer Rini Mukherjee and Atpoure Rabindranath was presented through audio script by Sh Amit Roy and Smt Ratna Mitra, of Kolkata. The programme was inaugurated by the Chief Guest Padma Vibhusan Dr. Karan Singh, President of ICCR, along with Dr Nitish Sengupta, Former Member of Parliament, Ms Sanchita Haque, First Secretary Bangladesh High Commission, by lighting the Lamp. Pdt. Debu Chaudhary and other eminent personalities were also present on this occasion. Audience witnessed the magnificent speech of Dr Karan Singh.
Smt Rini Mukherjee mesmerized the audience through the Nazrul Geeti of different moods with famous Bengali gazals, light classical, devotional, patriotic songs. The versatility of Kazi Nazrul Islam was presented along with scripts, recitations by Sh Durgadas Bandopadhyay, from Kolkata. Rabindranatyam was presented by Delhi Ballet Group, of Guru Valmiki Banerjee, the pioneer of the dance form, originally created by Tagore. Atpoure Rabindranath, The daily life style of Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore with his famous quotations, songs and poems was also presented through audio drama by Amit Roy and Ratna Mitra, of Kolkata on this occasion.
